Ink Blog: Exclusive Interview with Jake Deckard!

I finally got it... the interview with mega-star AND director Jake Deckard!



SC:
You know I have been a huge fan since day one with you. What porn fans may not know is that working with Jake was a porn fantasy cum to life...
when I was discovered I was a little hesitant at first, so Chris Ward dangled Jake here as bait to get me to sign my first deal. And what a deal!!! 2 huge pictures, "Lords of the Jungle" and "Mirage" (which is currently #2 on the AVN charts). What blows my mind is now were good buddies, but I am no less in awe of your talent. Even more so now you've gone from star to director with the release of your first picture "Ink Storm".

What is it like to move behind the camera and call the creative shots?

JD:
Exciting and downright scary. There wasn't a whole lot of hand-holding going on, and I realized quickly that I was going to have to really step up if I wanted it to work out. Later I began to understand not only how much trust was being placed in me, but also what a privilege I was being given in having a final say in the product. Being given the "Final Edit" in any project in a very big deal.

SC:
The hottest scene in the movie could easily be your scene with cover star Logan McCree. What was it like to both direct yourself AND perform in that scene?

JD:
We had alot of fun. I felt a little more self-conscious than usual because I wasn't able to totally abandon myself in the sex for the whole ride because I had to pay more attention to what was going on with the shoot as well (and what a ride it was, that boy has a very big dick!). But Logan is so intensely fucking sharp, and he is absolutely the star of that scene, so I let him drive it much of the way. I really enjoyed watching him work his way through that performance, and then playing off of him as we went.

SC:
You have a number of tattoos yourself. (Pick out 3?) Tell us about them... when you got them and why?

JD:
I have a heart with my partners name and mine, and the phrase "Playing to Win at a Fools Game" falls in a circle around it. There's nothing better than falling in and out of love. My partner Mark falls at the core of me though. It's been 11 years crazy fun and occasionally fucked up years. I just had one done on my forearm that says "God Bless the Child Thats Got his Own" That was an impulse buy. It's always within sight though, and I am always reminded to push harder and always make what I do my own thing. The one everyone wants to know about is the stomach tat. It doesn't mean anything and I didnt want it to. Sometimes a little ambiguity is nice.

SC:
Which of your tatts is your favorite?

JD:
The mariners compass on my shoulder. I had it done for my grandmother, whom i was very close to.

SC:
Do you have room for more on that hulk of a frame?

JD:
Theres always room for Jello!


SC:
"Ink Storm" – Why should we buy this movie?

JD:
Because it's a little different than the usual porn, and it doesn't suck.
